There are several goodies on sale right now at Disneystore.com. You know your children will want a plush Mickey or Minnie, and sometimes the teddy bear-sized ones are hard to find in the parks. Plus, I'm sure you would rather pay $12 for them instead of $20-$25 at Disney World.
We always take lots of character animals with us to Disney. Mousekeeping will often arrange them in your rooms or your windows while you are out. It's a fun little treat to return home to after a long day.

There were also some other cute items for good prices- sunglasses, pajamas and t-shirts. I always give our kids a new pair of Disney pj's while on vacation. And I normally get a couple new character t-shirts for each of them. They get excited about a new present, and it's something that they can actually use after the trip, as opposed to a toy they may lose interest in when we get home.
I like to buy things like this that I know my kids will like ahead of time, when I have a little more control over the price. If you start scoping out deals far enough in advance, you can find the items you want, at a good price. If you wait until you get in the parks, you are at their mercy.
It also helps with the "Mommy Please's" in the parks. I won't say that my children never ask for anything in stores, etc. Nor will I say that I don't buy them a few souvenirs while we are there. But, normally, I stash a goodie in a backpack or in the stroller and pull it out at a good time, and try to head off the big eyes they get in the gift shops.
Having this new little pretty will keep their attention and avoid the meltdowns when I won't buy the pricey item they have their eye on.

What is your favorite souvenir, either something you can buy in advance or while on vacation?
